Build a race car for £999.00 challenge
Thought I should put a post up about this, we are entering the PPC build a race car for £999.00 challenge next year, our car will be a Justy naturally
Team Hayling
Me, Garndi, MattG & Jimbo.
The car bought for £150.00 with a knackered engine
The engine we will use, its G13B with high mileage, we will give this a good going over
Started to make a manifold
Plan to use a TD04 Turbo, Garndi Turbo chip & NOS, the car must cost less than £999.00 to build so this will really be done on a tight budget.

Just up the road from my house apparently. He even called me to rub it in on the way back home .
He must be using his team of office staff to sit on ebay all day waiting for them to pop up lol.

LOL, as you know Andy I have bought a few for less than £200.00 now, I only ever buy them for the gearbox & how much is a gearbox worth

Much stronger than the standard GTI one & I believe the ratios are roughly the same

when you change to a justy box do you have to change the flywheel and clutch to justy aswell?haylingmini wrote:hobo wrote:how much stronger are they than standard and are the ratios the same?

Yes, Justy flywheel, clutch & I would think steering rack, which would involve moving the mounting points & you would need to blank off the rear output. Not a 10 minute job

Re: Build a race car for £999.00 challenge
Thanks Steve, I stand corrected, I thought the Justy rack was mounted higher on the bulkhead than the Swift. Seem to remember Garndi moving the rack mounting points up when he did his white one in Oz.

Re: Build a race car for £999.00 challenge
you need the justy rack if your running 4wd, but if your running the justy box on a fwd gti and you remove the rear drive section of the gbox then you can keep the stock rack

For stock Steve, its for Jap market only, your local dealer can get you one but they will need to do some digging, its copper with 3 layers. The part number is not recognised in Europe, we got ours trade, £80.00 delivered & it took 2 weeks.
