can i use the justy fuse box?

Because I havent got the gti one, if I cant could some one sell me one? I will pick it up if its close enough!! Thanks alot

I think it depends on the wiring loom you have, I would think you could use a Mark 3 loom as the fusebox looks the same. The mark 2 is completely different although I am sure you could adapt the wiring, just a lot of work.

No a 92 will be a Mark 2, so you will need to find a different fuse box or re do some of the wiring, you are going to have fun with the clocks & ignition barrel too.

thats why i had all the problems! i used a 1994 loom in 2001 car and all plugs were different!

on mk3 loom, have they got under bonnet fuse box and engine loom connected together?

on earlier models they were seperate, right?

The engine loom appears to be the same on mark 2 & 3, black under bonnet fuse box, the change comes when you get behind the dash. Ignition, wiper / indicator stalk & clocks are completely different. You could mix the looms but it would be a real mission working out which wire goes were, unless we can get hold of a mark 3 loom we will have to attempt this
If using a mark 2 loom on a Justy it would be easier to get the ignition barrel / steering column, internal fuse box clocks etc from the mark 2 but that in itself opens another can of worms

i opened that can of worms thank god my dad has an electronics degree!

i tried steering shaft ( from steering wheel to steering column) from a gti and it didnt fit to 1.0 column, so had to rewire 1.0 stalks...

LOL, rewiring the clocks is even worse, trying to work out all the inputs

When i did the conversion ( with help of few people) I used ( from what i was told) '94 loom. white underdash fuse box etc. clocks from same car... my dad rewired all rear of the car as nothing matched up....

so an N reg.. is that '95 or '96? because im going to pick one up saturday, i cant find any info on mk3 swifts anywhere....

Could be 95 or 96, I would think it will be a mark 3, unless you are very unlucky

well im going to pick up the loom on saturday anyway.. so i hope to god that it is a '96.. but if it isnt i need the clocks and stalks?

You need to look at the connections, changing the stalks may mean changing the steering column too. Wait till you get the loom, take the dashboard out of the Justy & examine all the plugs. Good luck with it
