Re: turbo swift
To much to list If you can do it in an e-mail then why not post it on the forum or give a link to the car?.
There and 100s of Turbo swifts around the world I would like to know why yours is different, square wheels would be different lol

Re: turbo swift
Sounds like the car must have had a hard life to need all that money spent on it. Well done for sorting it out! there becoming a rare item most people would scrap the car.
Cosworth ECU and "engine management"?, does it have a piggy back to control timing and fuel?. Sounds like a odd setup would be interested to hear how it all works on the g13b? how does it wire in
mmm could I use my mates spare starlet ecu to turbo my car
good luck with the sale put some pics up

thanks for the reply it runs entirely on the cosworth ecu and the standard fuse board and relays do the rest with igntion coil and crank sensor plus changes to the distributor but runs nice hopefully pics soon

Re: turbo swift
pic's or ban.... lol
Ok so your saying :
Its running Cossie ecu, wiring, map sensor, TB with TPS and uses the relays and fuses from the swift.
You have modified the distributor to have the same pick up (cam angle sensor) as the ford engine and you have put a Crank Angle Sensor off the Cossie on the car (was this on the front crank pulley/balancer or the flywheel? pic would be good).
I take it you had to remap the Cossie chip to get the car started, get the C20XE injectors to work (are the same impedance? or are you having to use a resistor to change it) and change the 6800RPM rev limit.
Both engines do have the same firing order.
If its the standard chip in the ECU is there any flat spots throughout the rev range?.
What base fuel rail pressure are you running?.
What ECU code does it have or what Cossie is it from?.
Not hassling you but another question is why?. Did you happen to have one spare Cosworth ECU kicking around or something?.
You know that there is a Turbo chip available that you can allow you to run 185HP (10-12psi on standard CR). Or you can get after market ECU that plugs into the standard loom that has Turbo maps ready to go (Adaptronic) these do everything you need to Turbo a Swift.
Awaiting the details and pic's.
Send them to my e-mail if you like and I will host them for you.

Hi the cossie crank sensor is on the swift crank pulley and the injectors are the same impedance i think 16 ohmz and all ran by the cossie ecu plus the rev limiter is set standard cossie at 6800 just re mapped to adjust fuel and ignition timing as for the fuel rail its a cossie one just cut and welded then pressure tested. the ecu is from a 2wd cossie and its either a closed loop system or an open loop system one of them is the 4wd system can't remember which one. I was advised to do it this way as i couls get more out of the cossie ecu as you probably have seen some high cossie bhp figures but mines only just getting ran in at the moment but i've finished that project now so next project already on the cards cheers i'll try for the photos at the weekend
