Re: vitara pistons
Nice job Atchi!
Just out of curiosity why not start with the G16 closed deck block?

Re: vitara pistons
Hi,
I just want to keep 1300cc.
Just imagin people's face when you tell them it is 1300cc. They will be pi**ed off if you over take then in a track day.
My mate has done this with his Swift Gti and past Ferrari and Aerial Atoms!
Beside, G13B crank is stronger and I don't have G16 engine. I got 4 G13B engine spares as well!
Cheers

Re: vitara pistons
why would you use g16 rods in a g13 engine...did you miss read the question atchi ?Miniswift wrote:Hi,
What do you mean no good?
Gti pistons are 0.95mm longer from the centre of the pin, so it will work. So it will gives better CR than 7.2:1 as we have worked out.
Anyway, here is a finished block!
As you can see, there is no gaps between a block guard & block itself!

Re: vitara pistons
I'm using G13B after market rods... never G16 rods as it won't fit G13B.
What I mean by 0.95mm length difference is that the piston height is different.
G16B pistons has 0.95mm shorter/lower from the centre of the piston pin to the top. As a result, G16 16v Vitara pistons will give you extra 4.4cc to give you lower CR.
So, I have 1mm shaved block as well as 1mm skim from my cylinder head. This will give me better CR than 8.2:1, I shall check what CR is by compression test to how good it is. 10:1 is about 200psi when it is healthy. I assume my engine will be healthy after running in... I hope this will be a good guess to work out my new engine.
Cheers
