Gti exhaust on 1.0, and coilovers
I am in need of new exhaust and am exploring different possibilities.
I have read some where that GTi exhaust ( i think it was from manifold) fits 1.0 models. can anyone confirm or deny this?
Also i want some coilovers for my car, i found some hotbits ones for 500, just wondering if anyone got any cheaper? they would be for daily use, and just to go low(er), not bothered how hard or soft they are.

im sure the exhaust will fit fine, not to sure on the flexy joint though
if you just want to lower it then use some normal lowerd springs
tenth of the price and the same effect
if your concernd that it wont be low enuf than just take into concideration that the 3cyl is about 30mm higher than a std gti and a gti lowered spring is another say 40mm so that would be a drop of 70mm aprox for your car
also you shouldnt go to low coz you will mess up the handling, a proper lowered spring is just right, beleve

dont know about that, from what i remember the gti cat section is quite long and so is a 3cyl`s but weather they are the same or not is a different matter
couldnt you just get a maxpower backbox and some jetex diy tubing?
as for the susp have you got a good profile pic of yours atm?
this is a pic of my old gti, its the only profile pic iv got

i use whiteline flatout, i change the rears for mot time
that is as low as you want to go really
take a look at your susp arms if they are close to level with the ground then thats it, otherwise you WILL start to fcuk up your handling

I want to put a gti engine in my car next year so if i could get a GTI exhaust now ( as i need one anyway) it would save me some money!

it doesnt look that much higher, but the gti has side skirts and different bumpers that make it look lower and standard.
u should just buy some lowered springs and try it there cheap compared to coilovers.

It doesnt look too high to me, i'd get the gti bumpers and skirts or there and then see how you feel.
Also you dont need to have a GTi back section for it to work, you can change that anytime

Re: Gti exhaust on 1.0, and coilovers
thats not v high, it looks about right if you go by the gap in the arches
what profile tyre are you using?
gti bumpers are the same hight as a std bumper infact ph2 are the same as a 8v, the optional spliters brings them down to the same hight as the skirts
