Re: My AWD Swift GTI
that thread is way to long for one sitting
i thought the wheel base looked a little long for a mini, cheaky, good idea though, i bet it save alot of fabrication time as all of the susp, engine, gbox mounts are already there
i watched the vid aswell, she looks good, did you sort out the gear problems?

Hi Gary
Gearbox selector problem was sorted so I can have a proper drive in it at the weekend
It seamed like a good idea at the time & the wheelbase is about 9" longer than the Mini Van, so the wheel arches were moved to accommodate this. I do have another Mini with GTI engine too, that was MUCH easier to do

Re: My AWD Swift GTI
Hi Jerry,
It's not fair you are nearly finished your 3rd Mini conversions.
This Vanswitasty will be good to make many Scoobys and GTRs owner's cry.
I'm building my extension for my shed now so I can keep my spares out of girl's Wendy house!
I'm making very slow progress but I do keep at it!
My better half thinks I will be finishing my Mini when my eldest is 17. She is only 6 at the moment...... !
Oh well, I just keep at it!
By the way, do you still have all of my parts(which I haven't paid to you yet)?
I think I need to pay you soon somehow...lol!?
Cheers

Re: My AWD Swift GTI
Hi Gary
The other island is called Thorney & you would have loads of trouble getting onto that, lots of people with big guns their
Atchi, spend more time in the garage & less time on the internet, your car will be done in no time
Your stuff is in my garage wrapped up ready for you, no rush as far as I am concerned. So just let me know when your finances are better & I will meet you somewhere with them.

Re: My AWD Swift GTI
Hi Jerry,
Due to summer holiday, I'm looking after girls.
They are not old enough to left alone so I can't go in my garage.
Also, I can't really take girls into my garage while I weld!
So, I can only work max 2hrs at weekend!
I need to do little bit more of welding then I can start to re-assemble and fit wiring from mk1 Swift Gti! Rear sub-frame and suspensions are already fitted.
I just have being lazy to update my build diary!
Looking forward to see your "BEAST"'s shake down!
Cheers

Last weekend I did my first event at Barkston, no major issues so I am well pleased.

Update
Remapped last week
The power peaks at 5500, Geoff the guy that mapped it thinks I may have an exhaust problem. I have a 2.5" system all the way through, but only a 2" tail pipe. He thinks their is loads more to come, just need to find whats stopping it.
Both the van & I had our first trip down the quarter yesterday, managed a 12.3 which I am more than happy with.
