Oil Catch Problem Empty Oil Catch Problem

Post  finnegan777 03/05/15, 07:10 pm

hello, i have a problem with my oil catch can (mountain dew bottle) filling with oil rapidly when under high rpm.. i can drive around normally and there will be very little oil in it, as soon as i have the car rev'd out going up the gears, it will fill rapidly. its a G13B and on the valve cover the right breather pipe is blocked off and the left one is going to my catch tank.... anyone any ideas on how to fix this and its creating a HUGE mess in my engine bay. cheers..

had the same problems on my turbo swift. Try emptying half a liter out the engine might be slightly overfilled. If that don't work try plumbing a return from catch can drain plug to the sump?

why is the pcv blocked off?, that releases excess crank case pressure.
but them both into a catch can and vent the can to atmosphere.

That is probably the reason, i would get it sorted or you can kill your rings and/or valve seals if you haven't already
Is the oil at correct level?

the engine came from a nova and was built for rallying, the pcv was blocked off when i got it so i left it alone, i'll run the two pipes into a can and vent it and see, the oil is the correct level,, cheers for the help.
