Intercooler fitting Empty Intercooler fitting

Post  shuja 12/08/13, 02:08 pm

Hi all
Need a bit of advice fitting an intercooler to my mk2 ph1. How much of the front bumper do i need to cut? Do i need to cut off the the bit which is joined in the middle to the frame of the car? Do i need to cut more than that?

I'm looking to feed the pipe through the chasisi behind the wing, than around through the front bumper frame. I know its been done like this before, can anyone give me advice?

it all depends on size and  being clever..
I had an audi intercooler before, didnt fabricate it myself but fitted under the bumper without cutting.
this intercooler size was more then large enough, so do not reallwy need a huge one, we monitored it, and the inlet temps were really low..

I found myself en aftermarket Fibresport front bumper with loads of space, so let it hang out a bit more..
