stock pistons are fine for 200bhp more if ya wanna risk it a little JE pistons just email them directly or find a uk distributer or use vitara pistons from ebay all the power you could wanna run on em but fairly low comp ratio really does depend on what you wanna run

steve

again for wiesco you can contact them direct instead of going through turbine tech

Thanks for that. I got a quote of coordsport for some wiseco pistons and the y said they would be £660 +vat. Sounds a bit steep to me. Going to email wiseco direct. Thanks.

Hi,

Why do bother with such a piston set?
OEM Vitara piston will take more than 600+Bhp in Honda 1600cc. So whatever you are trying to do with your engine, it will be OK.
I think Jerry is using Vitara and his is 308Bhp from 75mm Vitara pistons.

Stop wasting money. Just buy good conrods and boost!

Cheers

Are the vitara pistons forged? And also what is the compression ratio? Im after at least 8.5:1 comp ratio and want pistons that can take high boost and be reliable.

The vitara pistons can take loads of boost mate and you could get a set for £140 posted off ebay

two types of vitara piston one is arounf 7.8 one is around 7.5 i believe again head gasket and work can alter this 660 + vat is heeeappss ! thats 780 quid for pistons ! forget that mate can get custom made cp pistons for around 155 each lol JE will be cheapest i believe

no vitaras are not forged but they dont need to be there strong enough

Vitara pistons are cast.
If you want 8.5:1 CR, you can get your block machined while you have your block bore out.
I have to do some cal. but it win't cost you more than £40 to get it skimmed. You may want your block skimmed to make sire both cylinder head and block have straight mating surface.

I will be building a moster boosted engine using cheap bits.
I will have 87mm liners fitted with std 75mm bore but I'm thinking of getting 78mm pistons to go BIG! I could even go 80mm and get 1517cc.
Getting it machined will be the issue but I have that sorted.

Swifty where did u get your wiseco pistons from and how much?

Ive already had the block faced but worried about the valve to piston contact if using vitara pistons as im running big cams and bigger valves.

I like the sound of putting in bigger liners but will that increase the bore strength much?

Thanks.

Liner wise, I will be using K-series 1.4 liners. They are 87mmOD and 75mm ID.
If you fancy going over to 80mm, you can and still 87mm OD.

I think you can get linder about £20 each my mechanic friend told me.
