Rear Foglight Relay?

Hoping someone here that drives a RHD car can help.
Have sourced a UK rear foglight and switch for a ph 2 GTi.
The switch operates correctly but the lights don't illuminate (the bulbs are OK).
Both switch and lights plugged into the existing loom.
I'm guessing I am missing a relay. The connector will be there for it (somewhere) but I would like to know where I should be looking and if possible the colours of the wires leading to it.
