Just under £7,000, I want to rebuild the car so that it is as new & with all original parts, I may borrow a few bits for my Mini whilst it is being rebuilt though Very Happy

Today Garndi came over at lunch time, so Andy, James & I stripped the car

My god the car is a work of art, stunning forged pistons, the Viscous is amazing & the fly wheel is something else, this is one piece & weighs far less than a GTI one.

The car is completely stripped & ready to be sent off for blasting Very Happy

Its the viscous carrier showing the two electronic cables that control the Viscous coming out.

Hi,
I'm curious how does it works, i mean the Viscous can be locked (50:50) or working like orginal VC (part- time)? Wonder what kind of clutch was used, something similar like for example in suzuki SX4?
Thanks for explanation, Marek

The viscous is turned off when the handbrake is applied, which in turn cuts the power to the rear wheels allowing nice handbrake turns. I would imagine the split is 50/50 & has the same effect as welding the Viscous. No idea what the clutch mechanism is at this stage, I would guess it is very similar to a big Suzuki motorbike Very Happy

Thanks Allan, but imagine the metal plates reversed, apparently the new SX4 uses something similar which is believed to be manufactured by Ogura Very Happy

We are thinking about having 6 copies of the head done, they will be scanned & exact copies will be made using the latest CNC technology. Valve seats will be cut etc, on an exchange (bear head) basis the cost would be £1,250.00 each plus postage. If anybody is interested please let me know.

It is probably the ultimate ported GTI head, the porting is unbelievable, when you feel the inside of the ports it feels like skin, or a certain part of a ladies anatomy Laughing
How many heads do you think Suzuki went through before they arrived at what is on this car bearing in mind what this car is Very Happy

LOL, yes but the car needs a service, decent fuel, decent fuel pump & was blowing straight off the manifold, so no back pressure. It will make at least 150, maybe the 180BHP that it is supposed to be Very Happy
