well the block itself is stronger, since it's a closed end one, but the internals are weaker, though i have a friend who rebuilt the block with original parts, and it's running fine, he revs it 7k+ and its been fine for almost 2 years now, it's NA though, he uses it for slaloms mostly

Hi,

G16 has so called weak crankshaft. They are hollow unlike G13B which is forged.
If you put G13B head onto G16, it will not flow as much air as 1.6 needs.
You can buy SOHC 16v head from Baleno which flows better but you will not get aftermarket cams readily available. You can buy them only from Canada. Teamswift's Mike aka Suprf1y.

Hi,

I have a feeling it is.
If you are fitting DOHC head, you will need to carry out P+P to cope with air flow.
If you going this far, why not fit D15/16 Honda crankshaft to G16 engine?
This mods is carried out in US or G15 then turbo charge it.

Cheers
