Re: my GTi
so i've been shopping...
turbo kit i bought about 2-3 months ago...
includes turbo, manifold, intercooler piping, intercooler, full exaust, hks bov
unfortunately the intercooler was damaged during shipping, will be some problems since it was custom built, but i'm not going to complain for lousy packaging for that price of 370 including shiping from singapore... i'd say it's a bargain
will still need to get another intercooler (will look for something similar) make oil feed and return, turbo cooling, get a boost controller, weld the exaust where it has been cut and get the exaust gaskets which i think will be the biggest trouble cause i have no idea were to look for them lol
and i bought garndi's turbo chip
still waiting for a suzuki sport headgasket, and jdm front lip from strider, then i need to get arp bolts, skim block and head and put everything together, i decided not to take touch the internals, since they were completely fine before and if it's not broken why fix it?
also on negotiation for cultus mk2 rear lights that look like this
would love to get my hands on these...

Re: my GTi
well they have them in us, but the indicators are red, so i won't pass inspection, dunno about MOT here, and the ones with orange indicators were only made in japan, so trying to get a pair from australia atm, asked strider about them some time ago, he said, they're rly rare and expensive

Re: my GTi
i've actually missed it... i usually check the for sale section, THANK YOU VERY MUCH MATE!!!! that guy already has a couple of pms
was bored today so fitted the kit to see, what needs modifying, cuting etc...
so i will need to spend about 2-3 mins with angle grinder to fit it nicely, got another intecooler and boost controller
since the one i got is a bit longer, i'll have to modify the piping, i hope i'll be able to sort it out with some cuting and silicone elbows
will also have to move the battery to the boot, but that was on my plan a long time ago, so that will be done too
also got the turbo chip today, thank you very much Andy!
biggest problem now is skimming, since i have no means of transporting the head or the block, looking around to find the closest shop that could do that, and will take them there with the help of public transport lol

Re: my GTi
haha, thanks
the guy i bought the kit from used Greddy E-manage with it, his base run at 0.6 bar gave 148 whp, he said after proper tuning it was a bit more, but he lost the dyno sheets and doesn't remember how much exactly, if i get something about 130-140 whp i'll be more than happy
the wrx turbo manifold flange is fitted with 3 bolts, right? i just noticed that mine has 4, but it's clearly written tdo4l on the side... a hybrid?
oh and thanks to a hint from Can, i've bought the jdm mk2 rear lights, now i need to wait till they get here and get the rear upper bumper bit for US to fit them

Re: my GTi
they are still in japan unfortunately
if you cut off the reverse lights, they're exactly the same like mk2 ph1, first i need to get a wider upper bumper part from us, then a square number plate, cause there won't be enough room for a wide one
anyways everything car related is on a full stop, need to sort out where to live, the garage isn't to appealing =D

Re: my GTi
4 gen civic, ended up bending them in the rear, my guess is that they need top ball mounts to allow more movement, because they ended up a lot shorter than swift shocks

Re: my GTi
i could only compare them to stock suspension and it was a huge improvement. if i was sure that the top ball mounts would solve the bending i'd try again, i will get back to making another set of them some time later, because i want my swift to be low and i don't rly see another option except raising top mounting points

Re: my GTi
doing everything VERY VERY slowly... so i thought i'd upload a few pics atleast
how the wheels gonna sit
i think they stick a bit too much so i thought of a way to cover them up
but i think the wheels will have to go out a little bit more =DDD
Today got some JDM bubble wrap, JDM calendar leaves and JDM cardboard
oh and these thingies too
got a bumper from us to fit these lights, will ft them tommorow and upload a pic

Re: my GTi
got everything except, a head gasket, which i bought from strider in march, post office fucked up something, so it was delivered back to him, had no news about the second one... would have been finished ages ago... all that's left is to get some vacuum pipes, and turbo cooling pipes which i'll get once the head is fitted and i'll measure the exact lenghts i need, but i need the gasket for that...
