Hello my name is aki i am a welder fabricator from lincolnshire.
I have been looking on this forum for about a year now as i have had the intention of putting a swift gti engine in my samurai 413 to turn it into a bit of a sleeper but the more i read the more power i want its addictive i want a turbo on it. I have been collecting engine parts, looms, ecu s, and various other bits for about the same amount of time. just bought a rottern swift gti for a few parts so before i even thought about scraaping it i thought i would ask if anyone needed anything cheers aki

Welcome to SSGTi.

I think bits many people wants will be rear disc brake setup.
You will need to take off hand brake cable, brackets, calipers, caliper mounting brackets.

Also, depends on what reg it is. People would like to have dashboard, ECU, wiring harness and so on.
These things will come in handy when people convert their Justy into an AWD Gti.

I would have them if it is going cheap enough!

Its sad to say but it was to rotted to do anything with, looks like its been stood a while quite rusty all over.
Im not out to make masses of money just wondered if i could help anyone out as i may need a bit off help later on my self
so if anyone needs a part or the whole thing just let me no.

Hi again got the swift engine in my samurai now goes really well 100% better than standard.
I have also found another old poorly gti engine with head plugs popped out .
Just wondered if any one had a basic turbo build list of parts I would need and places to get them e.g manifold. I'm only after a reliable daily setup but still need to embarrass a few faster cars if you no what I mean cheers aki.

I have a kit form turbo manifold if you would like.
Since you are fabricator, all you need is 2 90 degrees and 2 t-piece to make manifold for TD04.
You can buy these plate for £65 plus postage.

I have ready made one by me but sending it to a fabricator is like look at my pigeon poo!
So.... I would like you to make one yourself!

I can sell you either 316 stainless steel or mild steel. I have mild steel one in stock as I made for someone but he has since sold his car so no need for him.
The one I have ready made is using Saab 90/900/93 series turbo. It has skimmed to make sure it is flat and internal walls are ported to make sure there is no loose spatters.

I think eBay special is not very good as they are very much warped and loose metal inside from cutting. Also, I have been told it has cracked few timesafter driving less than few 100s miles.
My friend did buy it and he cut it off and going to make his own using my flange.

welcome along aki good to see another fabricator why not just make one do you not have a laser cutter supply at work ? the chinese manifolds are scrap made of exhuast tube i think there tiggd twice so welds are brital

I can get anything laser plasma or water jetted out if I get the flange cut the same size as gasket will this be ok

I've been looking at t304 polished stainless will this work

Does equal length matter on the four pipes

Basically I want to make one if it goes well they won't cost a lot to replicate as we have a machine shop as we'll so can do lots at work

Got three kids house and all that lot so keeping cost down is good

I think SS316 may work out cheaper.
I know flanges you get cut from same material is more expensive but I know angle and T-piece are cheap than mild steel ones.
I think mine cost me more than £80 delivered and flanges are £60 so it worked out to be £140.
Stainless steel in 316 was £68 for bits but flanges were more expensive and ended up more like £200.

If you can get 90 and t-pieces cheaper, you will be OK. I think if you want no more than 250Bhp, a log style will be OK.
Garndi's chip will be good for between 180 to 200 with std internals, fuel pump and injectors. If you are going for more with 75mm bores. Then you may need to think about equal length and many fancy stuff.

I'm same here I have 3 girls and I do most of things myself with little budget.

your better off with 304 ss cheaper and has more give to alow for flex use sch40 logs are ok equal doesnt matter if you have a good collector if you want to spend more 321 is probably the best ram horn designs will give you better off boost response. what do you fabricate at work ?

the colector is the part of manifold were all the gases murge before entering the turbo this section is ok for now when you start making it post in boosted section so info is there the turbo chips are £60 delivered

As I read the forum you and garndi do quite well and he does the chips what is the max boost and power with a completely standard engine safely.

Next year I want to build a low comp engine capable of 250 bhp

When I put that you do quite well what I mean is you no your stuff I will need engine work doing next year need a good place to get it done

Andy's chip ios good for a std setup. So your low comp turbo engine will be no good with his chip. Well that what he told me.
His chip will be good for 180-200bhp anything above that, you want after market ECU(again his words).

Andy and Jerry(my other mate) has built Mini Estate with a std G13B engine with my manifold. They were getting 180bhp or so as they told me. So I know it works.
I have this setup and I have mk1 Gti with Justy running gear which is getting built by Jerry(Andy involved). This car will have again 180-200Bhp. I'm busy building 300Bhp engine for this car once I get bored with said power!

If you have access to such machines, I might send you my spare block to get liners out for even bigger bore!

I'm used to big heavy engineering but I'll get there getting the parts for manifold soon I'll get it done first then I'll b back in touch about chip Steve. Time to get mani done need power for winter fun .ill gets pics on when it's done

How do the liners come out do they need pressing out or milling out as I guess which ever it has to be quite precise

It will be machined out as it has ribs to cast in.

It will be boring it out, I asked Nissan machine shop boys to do it and they thought they could use a hack saw. But it looks like that not going to be the case.

I may brake into water jackets with bigger liners but I could just grout in, too.
Not sure if I need to block guard with either K sleeves or 106 sleeves.

I think if I CNC mill it, it may be OK to just use a long side cutter!

I no some real good machinists I suggest you do a test run on a g13 samurai block as there's loads about cheap to I have a scrap one what do you think.
