Valves

Hi,

is it possible to tell if the valves are bent without taking them out? btw the engine head is off the block. if they are bent they won't sit in the seat tightly, right? any way of checking it? thx in advance

If you go on you tube and seach for BENT VALVES there's a short video of a lad testing them with water and there's another video of him using compressed air. it's the same way I check them.

is it necesary to change valve guides, if you take valves out?

I'd strongly advise replacing them. You don't want to rebuild all the engine back up and find it's smoking and running rough coz the valve seal's are fucked. Is this the engine that's running on three cylinders ???

nope this is another one, i know i need to replace the valve seals, but what about the valve guides? the manual says if you take a guide out, you need to regrind and put in a bigger one, but doesn't say anything about taking the valve out and leaving the guide alone

Lol sorry mate I miss read it if the valve slides freely In the guide with no tight spots then I leave them. If there's a tight spot then replace the guide or I get a drill with a drill peace that's slightly bigger than valve steam and bore the guide out a little.
