Re: ecu connectors
I take it you are talking about the idle mixture CO% adjustment.
Chiltons manuals are crap - you'll get little information you haven't already figured out from them.
Have been down and examined an old loom.
There are three wires connected to the little knob - grey/red, green/black and black
They "appear" to go to these terminals on the ECU coupler:
B9 green
B15 grey/red
B16 black
It's damned hard to trace but that is about as close as I can get.
Interesting the FSM I have only lists B16 as ground (sounds good) but the B9, B15 terminals are not listed....
My FSM only makes passing mention of non O2 sensor equipped cars though.
This what you are after??

Re: ecu connectors
I think I'm talking about something completely different. The "thing" I'm talking about is the idle mixture adjuster which is a little silver knob on a small loom that goes to the ECU. It is only fitted to GTi's that did not have an oxygen sensor.
Are you talking about the oxygen sensor?
There are three yellow couplers that plug into the ECU.
The big 24 pin one is A, the 18 pin one is B and the 10 pin one is C.
The O2 sensor feeds to A8 which is the 8th terminal from the left at the bottom

Re: ecu connectors
The ECU will get a throttle position signal directly from the TPS.

Re: ecu connectors
Is that the lammiter that you put on the xmas tree that's made from thin strips of silver foil!(not very good for sending signals to the ecu) or the lambda sensor that fits in the exhaust .
Andy.
