do these fit together

was thinkin does the first part on the pic simply slot on or does it have some form of clamp on it which screws into the hole at the front

or does the second pic the 3 wires screws into that coz they arnt big enuff to go over the starter motor

There should be a bolt holding the speedo drive to the gearbox and then just a simple clip to hold the speedo cable into the drive (look for the slot on the raised piece and the end of the cable).
As for the wires are sure they are not just earths?

the wires are earths inlet mani or rocker cover were ever you want to put them
