japs!!!
i just fiinished puting in some new pistons into my spare engine and found this in one of the pins

its a nut from the rod bearing cap, who ever did the engine got it in there somehow
its an 18 year old engine and done 100k+
im surprised it never came out

no way i my mate removed them from the rods im still a bit confused as to the picture though

it was in one of the original pins from that engine, not one of the new ones
so which ever dozzy jap put the engine together left it in there when he was building it
as for the pic
the one on the right has the nut as i found it i just put the other one there to compare

a bit to lucky me thinks, all it took was a light tap with a driver and mallet to get it out
iv had that engine goin to 8k a few times with grp a cam
the only thing is that there was nowhere for it to go once the piston was in the cyl if it came loose all it wouldve done is damage the honed surface, iv checked all 4 and theres no major score marks so i guess it just one of those things
