Hi, ive heard rumor of fitting honda brake calipers on the gti, if this is true, what car are they off, do you have to mod the brackets for them to fit and how much bigger are they compared to stock?

thanks

you can use honda calipers, but you will have to mod the discs and to be honest you dont get that much more pad area, and they are still single piston

Cheap front brake upgrade?? Empty Calipers

100% you can do this upgrade. I am planning this myself as the wilwoods don't seem too good for road use. The positioning of the bolt holes are the same but you have to grind a bit of the bottom end of the caliper and pads off to make it fit, which is'nt a big deal. I got the info on how to do this from redline and I heard they cover 30% more area than stock. To expand this topic further, I have also heard that you can put Nissan 200sx s15 rear calipers on in the same way.

Cheap front brake upgrade?? Empty Brakes

I'll take your word for it. I was told that they only perform well at high temperatures! Any way, for a mildly modified swifts the CRx calipers are an absolute bargain. You can get them for about £30 from the breakers.
