What is involved in converting to solid lifters?
I want to run the piper bp300 cams but they say I need solid lifters
Cheers

Re: Solid lifters
Hi,
Take out your bits inside and replaced with tool steel of some kind.
Tool steel or similar material is needed as you will need to heat treat it so it won't wear out.
You will need to fit 1 at the time and measure gaps and grind them to suit. So it will take time but should be OK to do with time.
Cheers

Cheers,
Does anyone make a conversion kit? Or is it something that needs to be made bespoke?

Re: Solid lifters
Very much so.
You will nees to spend few hours/valve so for 16v engine it will be very long time!
I'm not sure what will be the best gap... may be back to good old school and keep it to 12 to 15 Thou.

Re: Solid lifters
This sounds like a lot of time and money for little gain. Can you recommend the best cam that I can use with the hydraulic lifters? Are the cat cams billet cams ok with hydraulics?
