what turbo?

Hi all, i'm collecting bits to turbo my swift gti with the aim of touching 300bhp. I was planning to a quality manifold from turbine tech and using a ihi vf45 turbo. Now the issue is this turbo is seriously rare and expensive. I was thinking of going the garrett t3/t4 route as this is easy to get and rebuild. My question is what's the max bhp I can expect from this turbo, and who makes a good quality, reasonable priced mani for it? Also does it have water cooling.lines?

t3 t4 is pre historic go for a gtx range the gtx28 is were its at these days for small engines our turbo manifolds at solid fabrications are 500-550 pounds for that sort of thing

I was always lead to believe that the vf range was the way to go. But anyway, what vehicles does the gtx turbos come off? What bhp can I expect? £500 is pretty pricey, will it be a good quality, equal length ss model with down pipe?

That's serious money! I'd prefer to stick to the ihi vf45, problem is they're so difficult to get hold of so if you or anyone comes across one give me a shout.

By the way, does anyone know exactly what year/model legacy the vf45 comes off? And is it it from the single or twin turbo version?

Get TD05 turbo.
They are rated for over 300Bhp and TD04 is about 250 to 80Bhp.
From what I heard, TD04 will spool up quicker and wider power band than TD05 will be.
You can get TD04 from Scooby and ebay price is very good.
