Whats going on with Insurance?

I have been using a few comparison sites recently, mainly compare the market and I managed to get my insurance quote at about £1777 which I thought was reasonable, still high but I am only 23 and have not owned a car before. This was about 1 week ago before I had bought the car, I logged back in today and found the same insurer was asking for over £2700. I haven't changed any of my details, can they do this? And Does anyone have any advice?

did u get the reference number as they have to stick to it if its within 30days of the quote.
try all 4 comparison companies they all vary on price for the same policy
go compare, confused, compare the market, money supermarket.

i did a quote with hughes who currently insure my zr and they wanted 3500£
rang up just to swap car on the policy and they said i would get a refund of 166£ and i paid 923 upfront for zr insure in july lol

try classic car inscurance that seems expensive to me also inscurance is completly random they change the prices as and when they feel like it really is annoying

insure in northern ireland is prob the highest in the uk steve since i paid that upfront im just going to swap the car on the policy over tonight they just told me il get 180 quid back so around 743£ a year with my biz use on it seems alright im only 25 and been on road close to 2 years
