My white one
hey all, got my first swift gti bout a month ago, swapped it for the engine out of my impreza sti plus a few other bits my mate wanted, so here goes, ill let the pics do the talking to start with
it all started when my mate offered to swap his spare rally car for the engine out of my impreza v2 sti, its been stored in a barn for 4 years and forgotten about, it was done for my mates current co driver, he did 2 events in it then decided he didnt like it, rather than paying my mate for the work that was done, he gave him the car...
at first i thought he was joking but was quite serious about the swap, little did i know it didnt run, took me a while to figure it out but i got there, kill switch had got moisture inside it and caught fire when i tryed to start it! so i put a newwer battery on it with new earth leads to different points and a new fuse box posative feed. still wont start! i check compressions, all ok, sparking, ok.. but wait... its sparking only 4 times from the king lead? for some reason the coil wont give out more that 4 sparks???
then i notice it has an armtech revlimit flat shifter fitted.. with chocky blocks, after removing them and repairing the wires, it still wont start! took the plugs out, shitted up, new plugs, still wont start... fuck sake, plugs out, turns over ok? plugs in wont turn over...
replaced starter motor, it runs!!!! for 10 seconds then dies... i forgot to put the fuel i got for it in lol heres a vid of it running for the first time in 4 years
bought a new rad as the one in it looks crap and is starting to rot, got new black silicone hoses too and a refurbed coolant pipe that bolts to the gearbox as mine is rusty
Also had to change osf engine mount bush as it was fucked, i dont know what mount kit it is so i had to find a bush the same size! Turns out mk2 cortina rear void bush fits, so i fitted one, got one spare

leda coilovers
Solid engine mount kit
whiteline front and rear sway bars
k&n filter
Front slutbrace
janspeed full system

full inside and out respray in subaru feather white (type ra white)
alloy quick shift with extented stick
its got an lsd but dont know which one (was in the box whan my mate bought it)
5 sets of wheels and tyres including the yellow revolutions on it atm

Ultra bright headlamp bulbs
Tarox fr discs and mintex pads alround
Braided brakelines
iv got a dished leather steering wheel to go in but i need a boss kit to fit it.
Im looking to single seat it, poly windows, cut the doors out and carbon door cards, rear link arms, Uprated fuel pump and custom feed line with high flow filter inside car. Its only going to be used for track use so i can take my time and do the jobs properly!

Sard rrfpr and gel gauge
After xmas im gunna get an apexi safc and get it set up on the rollers with a bmc cda fitted with a head light vent, should be good result!

very good swap a silly impreza engine for a retro rally car ? haha bargain ! nice looking car looks good considering you seem to know what your doing pretty well so need to advise

after getting my arse in gear and buying a shit load of bits iv started stripping the rear ready for seem welding and polybushing. iv already fitted sr20 tb and modded fuel rail, while inlet mani was off i did this;
took throttle heater off and blanked the hole
painted and polished the inlet plate
and me starting the strip in the snow yesterday
more updates once iv done more

Snow was on and off, poly bushing all round, seem weld rear subframe thing, clean paint and make look nice, tap every hole and replace every nut or bolt i can, also new exhaust if i can be arsed to lie on my back and do it, also removing tank so i can put new fuel libes on and run through the car, and fix the tank guard aswell. Oh and new wheel studs and nuts, harness anchor plates and paint whole underside again

whats wrong with using the rear seat belt points in the floor to bolt ur harness in?
it cuts the photos because your uploading them from photobucket or similar. u seem to have to host an image for it was to appear resized

Theres no holes for the crotch straps, there 6 point harness's and the 2 lap belts take up the holes behind the seats

replaced every nut and bolt i could and used anti seize ceramic spray when assembleing
r40 wheel nuts
63mm wheel studs
new rear pads
seam welded rear wishbones
rose jointed adjustable toe bars
srd fuel pump
all new -6 braided fuel lines routed thru NS of cabin
sard fuel reg
inline fuel filter under bonnet
sr20 60mm TB
new harness's
crotch strap anchor points
just need to get it on the floor, roll it back and do the front!

what wheel studs did u use in the end?
have u enlarged the maf housing, or is it going when u fit your emanage ecu?

Used forged impreza wheel studs, iv got both mafs, when it goes for mapping ill give the guy both and just say use which ever is best use

got me some new wheels, 14x6 ET-5 wolfrace slotmags
also put on an ART carbon bike can cos they weight next to nothing and sound amazing!

put these on with new cambelt, roller and water pump/altenator belt
going for setting up on friday with ATSPEED racing in rayleigh essex, see what she makes!!
