price for parts on a rebuild

currently gathering bits for a full rebiuld

have new oil pump,head gasket set, timing belt kit

phoned my local suzuki dealership today and hes give me a price on the following.

pistons- £84.96+ VAT set of 4
piston rings- £152.72+ VAT set for the four pistons
big end bearings- £75.12+VAT
Intake valves- £152.24+VAT for 8
exaust valves-£164.56+VAT for 8
total price so far for the above- £629.60 +VAT
and more shockingly

hydraulic lifters £714.72+ VAT!!!!!!!! for 16

taking the grand total for the above to
£1344.32

any comments?

why do you need new pistons and valves look in the guide section about your lifters
