Rebuild Time
Engines finally stripped and the rebuild begins soon..... My first ever full rebuild so all help is appreciated.
Right.... Im keeping the engine completely standard inside except for conrods due them being weak? (Which ones are decent?)(May change cams at a later date) And wanting to run a turbo with a chip sometime after running the engine in.
What i want to do is create a list of everything that i will need to buy so i can get them all in one go if possible... so fire ahead and let me know

Re: Rebuild Time
im guessing your just gona stick with the std comp ratio turbo setup?, or you`d be lowering the comp, so unless your goin for big power then the std rods are fine mate
you might be better off getting the gaskets/seals that are hard to get to from suzuki, just for peace of mind
get the right tools and take your time mate

Re: Rebuild Time
so basically u only want to use the chip, no standalone ecu.
i believe the chip can support upto
10 psi on a td04l
or 185hp
so thats ur limiting factor
im sure steve or andy will correct me if im wrong.

Re: Rebuild Time
right stock rods are fine just get some arp rod bolts
and on the chip you can run 10psi or 12 with a fpr at 45psi brp ish
or 14-15 with a chip and a apxi safc 2
i would recomend a dmw dave hadgasket o at least a cometic metal one
my car ran 11 all day and used to spike to 16 when the exhaust fell off lol the motors can take a beating

Re: Rebuild Time
Hi Ryan,
Ask Garndi aka Andy. He knows which set of ARP conrod bolts works.
I don't think they have set made for Suzuki Swift/Cultus Gti engine.
Cheers

Re: Rebuild Time
Mine are for a honda d15, bit loose in the rods
Aslong as they are tightend in the right order they will be fine
