aftemarket fuel rail help
i sent my standard fuel rail off to jenvey dynamics for them to make me a stronger one
have had to send it back twice n then i got it agen it wernt right agen because the o rings wernt the right side but got some my self anyway
connected it all up today but it just doesnt seem to want to stay runnning
it isnt as thick as the original standard fuel rail but told this woudnt make any problems
also told by them i wouldnt need the small air hose connecting to it as i cud just put a bung in and it will run fine
u can tell it wants to run but doesnt seem too ,
the faster i push the accelerator pedal the more it wants to start up, like its being starved?
baffled?
anyone had an aftermarket fuel rail b4?
any adjustments needed to it,

Re: aftemarket fuel rail help
doesn't look like there is one to me, is there anything connected to the other end of the fuel rail or is it just a hose that's connected to the fuel return pipe? if so, you need a fuel pressure regulator

this is what you need dont go for the cheaper ones your car wont run right at all without a fpr this is fitted inline with the return side of the fuel rail set base rail pressure to 36psi with stock throttle body or 40psi with 55mm or larger

Re: aftemarket fuel rail help
i dunno it mite get lonely lol
i no i ment this actual fuel pressure regulator, ive not seen them in action but ive read the spec and that just wonderin wether the item have everything u need to fit, no more connectors and that
another question i have is
does it matter which end i put the inlet an return pipes on
i.e the fuel having longer to travel????

Re: aftemarket fuel rail help
the flow and return pipes are different sizes i believe. i would imagine without looking that the largest wud be the flow from the pump and the small the return to the tank.
regarding fittings it all depends wot fittings ur fuel rails got and wot comes with the afpr, buy the reg then see wot fittings u need tbh. sard are ment to be the dogs bollocks...

Re: aftemarket fuel rail help
i wouldent use anything execpt sard or aeromotive the cheap ones are shit steer well clear unless you want a fire buy the regulator then you will prob need a lil reducer on the last fuel line as the one going onto regulaotr will be bigger than gti return line use push and jubilee clip connections dont go reying to make dash fittings if you dont know what your doing
and make sure its fuel line not water or oil has to be for petral will have it written on it
steve
the diagram shows how fuel circuit is

webber afpr
the company have emailed me back and said they have sent me a webber afpr free of charge
i presume this will be a cheap one?
i have took your advice anyway and bought one of the SARD ones
also as your a lookin into the engine bay (air filter on left n battery on the right) which is the return and inlet pipes and does it matter which end of the aftermarket rail they go on, i know obviosuly the reulator will have to be fitted right but just wondering the above

Re: aftemarket fuel rail help
return line can be either but take it from the left side the return is the smaller of the 2 metal pipes on the bulkhead
so
metal bulk head to right side of rail
left side of rail to side of fpr
bottom of fpr to small metal line on bulk head
thats it
and the little vacum line off the inlet to fpr

???
im a bit confused mate which doesnt take much lol
no instructions in the box which it said it had
right here goes lol
left small fuel line on bulkhead is the return
right larger fuel line on bulkhead is the inlet
got that part right?
the inlet goes to the left side of the fuel rail
the return goes to the right side of the fuel rail
fpr has a little nipple on the top in the shape of an upside down letter L
presume that the little air hose from the inlet?????
unsure which two lines go on the fpr
theres one directly on the bottom????
and one on the side at the front the of the fpr????
also a little alan key type black bolt on side to the left of the front one???
also how do u adjust it ,with the alan key thing???
if you can answer these questions point by point i will apreciate it,
sorry for being a pain in the ass
